Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of NewsTune, including our website, beta app, AI-generated audio features, voice features, public listening pages, and RSS publishing tools.

Effective date: April 10, 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

NewsTune is operated by Ethan Chen ("NewsTune," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using NewsTune, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

If you use NewsTune on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these terms.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use NewsTune. If you are under the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, you may use NewsTune only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account, keeping your login credentials accurate, and all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

3. What NewsTune provides

NewsTune helps users create personalized AI-generated podcast and news briefing experiences. Features may include topic and perspective setup, source ingestion, prompt configuration, host or voice selection, custom voice creation, voice cloning, cover generation, episode generation, public listening pages, and RSS export.

Some features may be beta, experimental, limited by plan, or changed, suspended, or discontinued at any time. We do not promise uninterrupted availability of any feature, voice source, provider integration, or content source.

4. Your content and permissions

You retain ownership of the content you submit to NewsTune, including prompts, source selections, uploaded materials, project settings, reference audio, voice settings, episode text, and other content you have the right to provide ("User Content").

You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, revocable license to host, copy, store, process, transmit, display, and otherwise use User Content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and provide NewsTune. If you choose to make content public, you also authorize us to publish and distribute that public content through public pages, RSS feeds, or other sharing features you enable.

You represent that you have all rights, permissions, and legal bases needed to provide your User Content to us and to instruct us to process it.

5. Public pages and RSS feeds

NewsTune may let you publish series, episodes, or RSS feeds publicly. If you enable public publishing, information associated with that content may be visible to anyone on the internet, including series titles, descriptions, episode text, audio, cover art, and any contact details or metadata you choose to include.

You are solely responsible for reviewing public content before publishing it. Once content is public, others may copy, cache, index, quote, or redistribute it, and we may not be able to fully control downstream use.

6. Voices, voice cloning, and voice models

NewsTune may let you use built-in voices, external voice models, cloned voices, or other available voice options. You may only upload reference audio or request a cloned voice for your own voice or for a voice you are expressly authorized to use. You are solely responsible for obtaining all required rights, permissions, notices, and consents before submitting audio or using a voice through NewsTune.

You must keep records of the consent or authorization that supports your use of any uploaded, cloned, adopted, or otherwise selected voice, and you agree to provide reasonable evidence of that consent or authorization if we request it while investigating abuse, fraud, impersonation, rights complaints, or legal compliance issues.

NewsTune does not independently verify that a submitted, cloned, saved, or otherwise available voice belongs to the user who uploaded or selected it, or that all permissions for that voice exist. If you use a voice made available through the platform, an external provider, or another user workflow, you must independently determine whether your intended use is lawful, appropriate, non-deceptive, and supported by sufficient rights.

You may not use any voice, cloned voice, or voice model for impersonation, fraud, harassment, defamation, deception, unlawful surveillance, or any other unlawful or abusive activity. You remain solely responsible for how voice outputs are created, shared, published, and used.

7. Acceptable use

  • Use NewsTune only in compliance with applicable law and these terms.
  • Do not upload, generate, publish, or distribute content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, harassing, deceptive, exploitative, or invasive of privacy.
  • Do not clone, upload, or use another person's voice unless you have clear and sufficient authorization to do so.
  • Do not use NewsTune to impersonate a real person in a misleading way, create harmful deepfakes, or misrepresent generated content as verified fact.
  • When publicly sharing AI-generated content, comply with applicable disclosure rules and do not present it as independently verified or human-created where that would be misleading.
  • Do not attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, scrape, overload, probe, or bypass product limits, authentication, or security protections.
  • Do not use NewsTune to develop or distribute malware, spam, or other abusive automation.

8. Plans, subscriptions, and credits

Some NewsTune features require a paid subscription, purchased credit pack, or other paid entitlement. By making a purchase, you authorize us and our payment processors to charge the applicable fees, taxes, and any renewal charges to your selected payment method.

Subscriptions are generally billed in advance and renew automatically unless cancelled before the next billing date. Cancellation usually takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Pricing, plan benefits, usage limits, and included credit amounts may change from time to time.

Credits are a service entitlement, not cash, stored value, or property. Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and are not redeemable except where required by law. Included monthly credits and rollover amounts may expire or reset according to your plan. Purchased add-on credits generally remain available until used unless we state otherwise at the time of purchase or suspension.

If there is a suspected billing error, abuse, fraud, chargeback, technical issue, policy violation, or misuse of the credit system, we may review relevant payment records, order history, usage records, and system logs and make reasonable adjustments to credits, including issuance, restoration, reversal, expiry, or removal, subject to applicable law and these terms.

If you disagree with a credit adjustment or billing-related account action, you may contact [email protected] for review. Nothing in these terms limits any mandatory rights or complaint channels available to you under applicable consumer protection law.

Additional billing terms are described in our Refund Policy.

9. Intellectual property and feedback

NewsTune and its underlying software, models, branding, design, and service features are protected by intellectual property laws and remain our property or the property of our licensors.

If you send us suggestions, ideas, or feedback about NewsTune, you agree that we may use that feedback without restriction or compensation to you.

If you believe content made public through NewsTune infringes your intellectual property or other rights, contact us at [email protected] with enough detail for us to review the request.

10. AI output and service disclaimers

NewsTune uses automated systems and third-party service providers to generate or transform text, audio, summaries, and related content. AI-generated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, offensive, unavailable, or similar to content generated for others.

Podcast episodes, transcripts, summaries, source selections, headlines, and other AI-generated outputs created through NewsTune may contain factual errors, omissions, outdated statements, or misleading framing. You are solely responsible for independently checking and verifying facts before relying on, republishing, monetizing, distributing, or making such content public.

If you publish or distribute AI-generated content created through NewsTune, you are responsible for complying with any applicable disclosure, labeling, or transparency requirements in the jurisdictions where the content is shared.

You are responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on, sharing, or publishing them. NewsTune is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability.

NewsTune is not legal, financial, medical, investment, or other professional advice, and should not be treated as a substitute for independent judgment.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend, limit, remove public content from, or terminate your access to NewsTune if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms, created legal or security risk, failed to pay applicable fees, or used the service abusively.

You may stop using NewsTune at any time. We may retain or delete account content according to our Privacy Policy, legal obligations, backup cycles, fraud prevention needs, and dispute handling requirements.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NewsTune and Ethan Chen will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or business opportunities arising out of or related to your use of NewsTune.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to NewsTune will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to us for NewsTune in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or NTD 1,500.

13. Changes, governing law, and contact

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we may post the updated version on this page and may also provide notice through the service or by email. Your continued use of NewsTune after the effective date of the updated terms means you accept the revised terms.
